Shogun Season 2 Wrapped!

 That's a Wrap!

As with many posts this past weekend, filming for Season 2 of @shogunfx officially wrapped! Although we cannot discuss Season 2 until it's release, we can say that thanks to @bullseye_stunts_inc, Esaka Dojo Vancouver (Vancouver Eishin Ryu Iaido Club) were hired as instructors of swordsmanship to the Toranaga Shogunate's troops. Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaido was taught to the BG, SAE and some of the cast during season 1's "Bootcamp", what you saw on screen was heavily modified from what we practice in the dojo. Many of our members also participated as BG, SAE, Stunt and Cast. Based on our involvement in Season 1, you can guess our involvement in Season 2! Once again, to Lash, Sanada-san, and the rest of the Shogun FX Team.... かたじけなく候.

Last Renshu at Marpole for the Summer Term, and guest Kenji-Sato - ***Pic Heavy!***

For our last renshu @marpoleoakridgecc of the Summer Term, we did not have our typical iaido class.

Tonight we had special guest and close friend of the dojo - Kenji Sato (@samurai_fighting). who's acting and stunt credits include @shogunfx season 1, The Last Samurai, Snake Eyes, Power Rangers, Rurouni Kenshin, Fist of the North Star, Resident Evil and many, many others.

While working on a well-known samurai production that filmed in Vancouver this year, Kenji-san came to our Marpole dojo to give our members a crash course in 殺陣 (tate). It gave our members a taste of samurai film/stage fighting and a chance to compare and contrast what we see on screen vs what we practice in the dojo.
