Did you know that the Vancouver Eishin Ryu Iaido Club (Esaka Dojo Vancouver) played a key role in bringing authentic samurai swordsmanship to FX’s Shōgun? Our members contributed as: ✅ Swordsmanship consultants ✅ Background actors & stunt performers ✅ Cultural advisors on katana etiquette From the way swords were worn and drawn to the precision of formal movements, our dojo helped ensure historical accuracy in every scene. We’re proud to have shared the art of Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaido with a global audience — and honored to be part of such a powerful story. Members of the Vancouver Eishin Ryu Iaido Club w participated in an online event for the Philbrook Museum. They shared their experiences in the dojo, and on set, and what it wss like to wear period clothing on sets that looked so real they felt like they were seeing the birth of the Edo period.
