After-work projects: Home-made bokuto

Bokken factory, series of bokuto in various stages of finish.

Top bokken made of ipe, or Brazillian Ironwood - awesome for Tachiuchi, bottom one made of African Mahogany (looks pretty but not good for Tachiuchi).

Finishing
Shaping the kisaki was the hardest part.
Found a couple of really long scraps of wood so lamenated them together over a weekend, cut and shaped a bokuto almost 8 feet long. Looks big, even with our tallest member - Gigantor.

Sensei and giant bokken.
