New Schedule for Marpole Community Centre Dojo

Hey Everyone,

The Marpole Community Centre dojo seems to be doing very well, with a few regular new students attending, as well as some senior students from the main UBC dojo. Starting April 7th, the time slot will be moved from Thursdays (4:45pm-6:15pm) to Wednesdays (7:45pm-9:45pm).

This new timeslot will be more accomodating to many of us who have to go to school and work during the day. I strongly recommend attending this extra practice session as you will get a lot of attention from Sensei.

Also, another friendly reminder of the two seminars coming up:

Vernon seminar and CIA general meeting
Date: April 24th and 25th.
Place: Vernon

Annual CIA Seminar - June 4th to 6th
Date: June 4th to 6th
Place: Nanaimo

If you haven't registered for the seminar in Nanaimo, please do so as soon as possible.

After Practice Tradition

Sometimes after practice, a couple of members will get together and go someplace like The Pit and have a couple of cold ones. From Left to Right: Kelvin P., Sensei, Constantine, Maki S., Peter P. (just the eye anyway)

2010-02-06 Extra practice after class

Left to Right: Constantine, Broadus, Sensei, Maki

There are times after our regular scheduled class, when the dojo is not used. It's a good opportunity to stick around and get in some extra practice. Some of our newest students did just that today and also got some personal coaching from sensei, who also stuck around today.

One of our newest students - Maki
Another one of our newest additions - Broadus
And the old-timer - Constantine

A few things discussed after practice were about the upcoming seminars so here is just a reminder of the dates:

Vernon seminar and CIA general meeting
Date: April 24th and 25th.
Place: Vernon

Annual CIA Seminar - June 4th to 6th
Date: June 4th to 6th
Place: Nanaimo

It's getting close and we should all probably start planning on who is going, so that we can plan rides and accommodations.
