Shogun Season 2!

 Did you know that the Vancouver Eishin Ryu Iaido Club (Esaka Dojo Vancouver) played a key role in bringing authentic samurai swordsmanship to FX’s Shōgun, season 1?

Our members contributed as: ✅ Swordsmanship consultants ✅ Background actors & stunt performers ✅ Cultural advisors on katana etiquette From the way swords were worn and drawn to the precision of formal movements, our dojo helped ensure historical accuracy in every scene. We’re proud to have shared the art of Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaido with a global audience — and honored to be part of such a powerful story. Vancouver Iaido, Shogun Bootcamp, and behind the scenes

Vancouver Eishin Ryu Iaido Club, Esaka Dojo Vancouver,  had a small part to play as official Instructors of Swordsmanship to the Toranaga Shogunate's troops.

A few years ago, @shogunfx asked @bullseye_stunts_inc  to meet Inoue Hiro sensei, and members of the club to see if we could help put on this production as official consultants and instructors of  iaido to the SAE, BG, stunt performers and some of the cast. 

We had two weeks to teach basic sword work to nearly 100 troops during the Shogun Boot camp. 

Iaido as we study it in the dojo may not appear on screen, however you will see our hard work put into this production.
