One of our members recently acquired a previously enjoyed nihonto from e-sword.jp
Made in the 58th year of Showa (1978), it's not old at all, but it has a lot of features that make it suitable for iaido.
The 44 year old sageo was swapped out for a newer one....
..... but then the white sageo was swapped out for a brown one.

盛篤刀匠の本名は藤田新一、昭和9年の生まれ、鹿児島県薩摩郡鶴田町在住。
金剛兵衛盛高の流れを汲む現代薩摩鍛冶の牽引者です。
師は初代盛篤刀匠で、金剛兵衛盛高刀匠にも習う。
全日本刀匠会会員、国土院会員名誉宗匠、数々の賞を受賞。
The real name of the swordsmith is Shinichi Fujita. He was born in 1934 and lives in Tsuruta-machi, Satsuma-gun, Kagoshima Prefecture.
He is a leader of modern Satsuma blacksmithing, descended from Moritaka Kongobei.
His master is the first swordsmith Moriatsu, and he also learns from Kongobei Moritaka swordsmith.
He is a member of the All Japan Swordsmiths Association, a member of Kokudoin, an honorary master, and has won numerous awards.
